Summer? Anyone??

I am seriously getting BUMMED. This summer has been cold and so rainy. It is July 13th and I am sitting here at night with all the doors and windows closed, dressed in my winter pjs.
Something is NOT right.
I don't know about this global warming thing....with temps possibly to hit the FORTIES this week...I am thinking "Ice Age" is more like it!
Anyway, I am bummed. I need some hot days and warm summer nights! I need to be uncomfortably hot so when our 9 months of winter weather starts back up, at least I can, at first, appreciate the cooler weather.
Oh, and our pool that we just got last year? Well, let's just say it has been used FOUR times this summer so far. And not because we weren't home or didn't have time. No. It was because the water temp was a balmy 60 degrees. ugh.
Well, enough whining. I actually was thinking the other day that the reason I am so bummed about the weather is that everything else is actually going fairly well. We are all happy and healthy. And, we all know, it only takes one scare or horrible unexpected phone call, to make us realize that cool temperatures should be the absolutely LEAST of our worries. Life is good. Time to stop complaining about things I have absolutely no control over.
And time to appreciate all the wonderful things I do have.

I love this weather - it's my very favorite. Still, even I am thinking WTH as I close windows and sip hot chocolate. It's summer for crying out loud, let the kids swim without fear of hypothermia.
It seems to me that summer passed you by last year too. You definitely need some warmth.
I was just thinking how much I am loving our summer, and already worrying about trying to endure the winter again. I have to remember to enjoy the moment!
Can we swap? I'll take your chilly weather, and you can have my 104+ with 100% humidity. Ugh. So bizarre that a few hundred miles can make THIS much differnce!
Oh I feel you... it'd been like that in Chicago for a good while, too. BUT it finally arrived this past weekend, so maybe you'll get our weather tomorrow? Thursday? Summer is NOT a season to be missed.
It has been an interesting summer. (But for what it's worth: this IS global warming. Global warming is about erratic weather, not just "warm" weather. So, too cold in the summer and too warm in the winter, crazy rain, hail, etc.) Today is beautiful here--I hope it is there too! (Funny how the weather can be different when we aren't *that* far apart) Alex and I are heading to the playground in about an hour to enjoy the sunshine and warm weather :)
Keep your fingers crossed, it's supposed to be in the 80s today!!! Doesn't it seem like the last two summers past were not the greatest either? we are due the rest of this "summer" and all of next!!!!!!!!! We have only been on the boat twice this summer so far. Hopefully today is going to be a boating day and bring the number up to three.
I don't blame you one little bit. Summer should feel like summer. It defintely does here in the sunshine state.
