Crocus after the rain

I got out this morning to try taking pictures of my lone flower right after the rain (click on it to see it better). This picture turned out OK, but since it was cloudy, the shutter speed was much slower and a lot of the pictures had a bit of blur to them. I should have used a tripod, but instead just balanced the camera on a rock. I completely understand why you need a tripod, I just really hate lugging it around. Maybe next time.

Well, I'm no camera expert, but I think that's a great photo! The color of the crocus is just beautiful, I love it!

*thud* that was my jaw dropping on the desk here... WOW... incredible, Irene. You did that splendidly! K, I don't know why you say you need a tripod because umm... this is really beautiful!!
Tripod or no, that is one great picture! I know what you mean about the tripod. I sometimes I wish I had it, but I don't take it with me on vacation or whatever. When we went to D.C. last year I kept trying to get a night shot of the capitol, but I couldn't hold the camera still long enough. I tried putting it on a wall, but I couldn't get the right angle. A tripod would have been really handy.
Oh, Irene... I think it is beautiful. VERY nice job.
I love that! The colors, the detail, the professionalism... Wow, it's a photo contest entrant for sure.
Oh, and yeah for crocuses! Finally.
Tripods are a pain but so essential....so I'm told. I think you captured the droplets quite nicely.
Lovely picture! I thought the crocus was a typical dutch flower. How arrogant of me... ;-)
Nice blog! Will be back to read more!
How beautiful! That picture is absolutely perfect! I can't wait to see my flowers!

I love the dew beading up on the flower. Really special.
Re the tripod, I stumbled across this link for a string tripod the other day. I think I'll try it, since I don't want to lug one around either.
It's beautiful Irene - beautiful!
Have a good weekend - Kellan
OMG, that picture is STUNNING!!!! I'm still so jealous of your new camera! :)
That is an awesome picture! Good job. Can you come to Tennessee and take some pictures of the tulips that are blooming here?
beautiful picture!
And Yay! You have flowers now! Woo hoo!

WOW! I think it looks FABULOUS! This is one for your WALL! The colors are stunning! And those water drops are AWESOME!!
That's really a great pic!
Wow, gorgeous photo!
oh so beautiful! I would be enjoying spring right now too if some freak snow storm hadn't passed through last night and dump 4 inches of snow :)
It was gorgeous before the rain, after it is just UNBELIEVABLE! Great shot!
The trick with crocuses, by the way, is that you can't possibly plant too many or have them too close together. Before I dug them up (accidentally--we had to make our pond bigger), I had about 500 of them in a space no bigger than 5x5. It looked incredible from the street, over 50 feet away.
Beautiful. I love those flowers.
Oooo... what a really pretty picture! Don't you just love the first signs of spring?
It's beautiful.
Lovely image. If your shutter speed gets to love try raising your ISO or opening up your aperature.
geesh....it's suppose to say LOW not love! Hope I made sense.
